Gallery Dépendance in Bruxelles

Interior design and woodwork for the Dépendance art gallery in Brussels.

The working space is hidden behind a play of doors. When open, they offer alternative focal points into the office and kitchen. However, when closed, there is little sign of their existence.

The fully equipped kitchen and storages are also hidden behind a wall of slicing doors so that when it is not in use, it does not have any interaction with the exhibition space.

Both a passage and a working area, the discordant angles are made sharper by top lighting.

Materials: MDF wood & wall painting

Yellow pine chair

Inspired by the yellow pine boxes that are often used to transport art, 150 pine chairs were designed  and produced for the National pop-up store during the National art-showcasing event.

Walnut bar

Walnut bar and interior design for seaside restaurant Casanova in De Haan.

The top of the bar is made of massive walnut and the rest is handcrafted using butterfly joints and following other traditional methods of cabinet making. Because it is the only seating area in the restaurant the walnut bar is the centerpiece of both the location and it's interior.
